Make a discrepancy reproducible
Record the utility, plan, rate version, service dates, charge component and official source section. If the issue concerns a calculation, export a report and inspect its assumptions and billing periods.
Do not send a utility login, an unredacted account number or a complete household profile. A small synthetic example that demonstrates the difference is usually a better technical report.
How a source change is handled
The local update process compares source hashes and retains the last reviewed snapshot. A changed document is set aside for review; it does not silently overwrite public rates.
A review checks effective dates, eligibility, riders, taxes and independent calculation fixtures. Replaced rate versions remain available to the calculation history when their evidence supports that use.
Send a documented correction
Contact the site administration with the official source and a concise explanation of the discrepancy. The administration reviews the evidence, records an accepted correction and reruns data validation and calculation tests before publishing a revised version.
A mismatch caused by an unmodeled discount or municipality is a coverage limitation. A transcription or arithmetic error is a correction. Both should remain visible instead of being concealed by a favorable total.
